WordPress redesign

A website customers can understand and you can keep improving.

A redesign should make your offer clearer and the next step easier. We begin with what needs to change, what is worth keeping and how you want to manage the finished site.

Decide whether to improve or rebuild

We examine the content, key journeys and technical setup before deciding to rebuild. Focused changes may be enough. A redesign becomes more useful when the current structure, templates or editing tools prevent the improvements you need.

The brief identifies your priority services, audiences and practical constraints. It also establishes who supplies the business information, approves the pages and manages the site after delivery.

Design around the decisions visitors make

If service details are in a PDF, pricing information is in an article and the contact link is hard to find, the first job is to bring the useful information together. Design then gives that structure a clear reading order.

We plan the service pages, available evidence, resources and enquiry journey as a whole. Typography, space, images and interaction support the content on both desktop and mobile.

Keep control of the existing website

The inventory covers pages that attract useful visits, content, images, forms and links. We define what to retain, improve or add before planning the new structure.

Work is prepared on a test copy with a recovery point. Existing addresses are the starting point; any proposed URL changes need their own plan.

Know what the project includes

  • Templates and pages to design, write or integrate.
  • Forms, features and business integrations.
  • Content, images and approvals supplied by each party.
  • Licences, hosting and recurring costs.
  • Review rounds, acceptance checks, launch and handover.
  • Post-launch support and any maintenance arrangement.

A shop, customer area or large catalogue needs its own scope. It is not treated as a minor addition to a brochure website.

Check the work before it goes live

Acceptance checks cover the important pages, navigation, links, images, forms, mobile layouts and metadata. Blocking issues are separated from smaller refinements.

The launch also needs to account for content and enquiries received while the new site was being prepared. A post-launch review checks the live result and helps organise follow-up work.

Questions about this service

What will you keep from the current website?

We examine useful content, pages that bring visits or enquiries, URLs, images, forms and functions in use. The inventory distinguishes what to retain, improve or replace.

A visual redesign does not require every address or paragraph to change. Any URL changes are planned with the necessary redirects and checks after launch.

Who writes the content and provides the images?

The proposal specifies pages to write, revise or integrate. You supply business information: services, intended customers, conditions, process and documented work. We organise it so visitors understand the offer and what to enquire about.

Images come from your resources or agreed sources. Any purchases and usage rights are identified, along with the people responsible for approving content.

How long does a redesign take, and can my current site stay online?

Timing depends on templates, pages, functions and the availability of content and approvals. The proposal sets out design, migration, review and launch stages.

Work is prepared on a separate copy so the current website can continue operating. We organise the switch with a backup and checks, accounting for any intervention window and changes received during preparation.

How should I compare the prices of two redesign proposals?

Compare deliverables: custom templates, writing, content migration, forms, functionality, checks, launch and handover. Page count alone does not describe the work.

Also compare included revisions, licences, hosting and renewals. Post-launch support, updates and further changes are defined in the proposal or a separate maintenance arrangement.

Will I be able to edit the website or change providers later?

We identify what you want to manage and prepare suitable templates for updates, service pages, images or practical information. Handover covers those tasks, with the necessary access and instructions.

The proposal identifies account holders, materials handed over and any licences. Functions requiring technical work are explained so you know what you can edit and where support is needed.
