Website migration
CMS migration: transfer content, data and features to your new platform
Is your platform limiting sales, independence or future development? Gloria prepares the move to another CMS or a suitable application. We organise content and data transfer, redirects, tests and launch. The aim: change tools for a useful reason, with a verifiable transfer.

Our working method
Our first step: analyse your competitors and keywords for your services
The preliminary study distinguishes what must be retained from what deserves improvement. We compare competitors’ journeys and platform capabilities using your catalogue, services and organisation; changing CMS does not justify losing useful pages.
Compare competitors’ offers and your customers’ searches
The benchmark examines offers, publicly available prices, evidence, content and ease of contact. We look for what visitors are missing and what specific information your business can provide. Competitors’ copy and visuals are not copied.
Keyword research then starts from your services: the need expressed, urgency, relevant location and search intent. We distinguish a service request from a simple information search, then group topics to avoid several pages competing for the same need. Website data and research tools inform priorities; no volume or ranking is assumed.
Choose the pages, evidence to present and actions to measure
You approve the proposed structure, services to present, available evidence and expected action on each page. Qualified enquiries, appointments or sales then provide reference points. The quote specifies the study’s scope, markets and deliverables: an in-depth analysis of several countries is not implicitly included in a standard website build.

Compare gains in independence or features with migration costs
Migration can give your team more independence, support a more complex catalogue, simplify integration or move away from a tool that has become too expensive to develop. Yet it requires more than a new design: content, accounts and data operate differently. We therefore begin by comparing the expected gain with transfer costs and future operation.
If the difficulty mainly concerns unconvincing copy or a poorly positioned form, a targeted redesign may suffice. If necessary features are absent, exports limited or your team depends on repetitive handling, changing CMS deserves study. An aesthetic preference alone does not justify moving a catalogue and its history.
Scoping establishes reasons for the change and corresponding indicators: publishing time, catalogue errors, useful enquiries or completed orders. These criteria support comparison of solutions and verification that the new website offers more than a different interface.

Check exports, data and features between the current and future CMS
We can assess a transfer between CMS platforms, a move to a custom website or connections to new tools. Feasibility depends as much on the starting point as the destination: version, extensions, administrator access, available exports, APIs and data volume. Visual blocks, custom fields and customer accounts are not necessarily compatible between tools.
On a small screen, scroll the table horizontally.
| Proposed change | Desired gain | Checks before quoting |
|---|---|---|
| Wix or Webflow to another CMS | Independence and new capabilities | Exports, media, forms and block reconstruction |
| WooCommerce, Shopify or PrestaShop to another shop platform | Better-suited catalogue and management | Variants, orders, taxes, payments and accounts |
| Drupal or WordPress to a new architecture | More flexible publishing or user experience | Fields, languages, roles and internal search |
| CMS to a React website with a database | A specific journey or service | Administration, public rendering, data and permissions |
| Website connected to a new CRM | Better sales follow-up | Contact mapping, consent and duplicates |
A CRM does not automatically replace the website. It can receive enquiries while the CMS continues publishing content. A CRM integration is sometimes sufficient without a complete migration.

Inventory pages, products, accounts and orders to transfer or archive
The inventory brings together public pages, articles, files, images and catalogue items. We also identify what simply browsing the website does not reveal: custom fields, user accounts, orders, existing redirects, languages, private documents and software connections. URLs known in Search Console or analytics can supplement pages in the sitemap.
Each group receives a decision: retain, transform, merge, archive or remove with a reason. Personal data is not copied unnecessarily. We define what must remain available for the business and authorised access in the new tool. Passwords or some payment information may not be transferable; a reset or reconnection mechanism is then planned.
The useful deliverable is a clear mapping between old and new: content type, fields retained, destination, transformation rule and expected check. Testing a representative sample reveals exceptions before full import. This reduces surprises from unusual product records and missing old media.

Example: a shop wants to change platform without mixing up its stock
Take a fictional clothing shop with sizes, colours and promotions. Its team wants to change solution to simplify administration. Copying only titles and photos would suggest a successful transfer even though variants, stock reservations or open orders could be missing.
We start by mapping product references and their variants. A test item with several sizes, a dated promotion and a stock shortage validates import rules. Previous orders are handled according to the new tool’s capabilities: a usable import or access to a documented archive. This decision is explained before disconnecting the current platform.
The switch plans for what happens between the initial export and launch: new orders, stock updates and catalogue changes. A final synchronisation or brief, announced and organised freeze avoids two competing versions. Tests cover basket, payment, stock reservation, notifications and returns within the agreed scope. No commercial outcome is assumed from this scenario.

Prepare redirects and content before changing URLs
Keeping a relevant URL avoids an unnecessary change. When it must change, we establish a destination meeting the same need. A moved product page can lead to its new page; merged content leads to the page genuinely covering its subject. Redirecting every old address to the homepage creates a misleading journey and is not a serious migration plan.
Permanent redirects are tested for status and final destination. We look for loops and chains, then update internal links. Removed content without an equivalent may justify a genuine 404 or 410 response with a useful page for visitors. The sitemap must show the correct destinations with consistent canonical tags and indexing instructions.
Titles, important text, images and page relationships are also checked. Google’s migration recommendations provide a reference. Careful preparation reduces avoidable risks; it cannot guarantee every exact ranking will remain or that no fluctuations will occur while the website is reprocessed.

Rehearse the transfer and test rollback
The new version is prepared in a protected test environment with necessary data and restricted access. The transfer is rehearsed first to establish its duration, errors and required corrections. We compare imported volumes and concrete records: identical totals do not prove that every product has the right photo or price.
Acceptance testing covers priority journeys on mobile and desktop. Accounts and forms are checked according to their roles, private documents remain protected and third-party exchanges are verified. Payment tests use appropriate test modes where available; any real transaction test must be explicitly planned. A notification’s status is distinguished from observed receipt.
Before launch, we agree the switching window, decision-maker and rollback conditions. The backup, how it is used and treatment of new transactions must be consistent: restoring an old website while overwriting recent orders is not an acceptable rollback.

Check transferred content, journeys, traffic and management time
The first level is operational: expected content present, usable journeys, recorded orders or enquiries and no blocking anomalies. Agreed post-launch monitoring checks errors, redirects, pages discovered by Google and continuity of measurement events. Its duration, access and included fixes are defined in the proposal.
The second level concerns the reason for changing. If you wanted shorter update times, we compare the same task before and after. If the aim was more sales, we compare orders and margin with spending while accounting for promotions, traffic and seasonality. Visits alone are insufficient for a conclusion.
Total cost includes migration, any reconstruction, subscriptions and future management. A tool cheaper to buy may require more daily work. The review therefore examines the actual gain over the chosen period, with attribution limitations. It helps decide the next improvement without treating revenue growth as assured.

Prepare a quote covering the complete transfer
Migration is priced according to identified data, features and constraints. Standard prices of €290, €590 and €990 excluding VAT concern their creation or redesign scopes; they are not a universal migration package. Transferring a specific extension, sales history or authentication may require separate work.
To begin, provide the website address, current CMS, intended destination if you have one, languages, connected tools and the constraint prompting the change. We then specify necessary access or exports. Do not put passwords or customer files in an initial public enquiry.
The domain remains registered, paid for and renewed through your account. Gloria can perform the initial connection; hosting, maintenance and retention of the old version are defined separately. You can request a migration assessment or compare this option with a custom application and other creation and redesign solutions.
If you practise a regulated profession, content transfer includes a review of titles, services presented and communication rules applicable in target countries. We identify approvals to obtain; transferring old content does not prove it remains suitable or permitted.

Questions about compatible CMS platforms, URLs and traffic risks
Can every CMS be migrated?
Many transfers are possible, but access, export formats, contracts and proprietary functions can limit them. We check a sample before confirming scope. A feature may need rebuilding or replacing rather than copying.
Must the website change address?
No. A CMS migration can retain the domain and some or all URLs. Changes are decided according to the new tool’s constraints and content organisation. Every important old address receives explicit treatment.
Can we move from WordPress to React with Supabase?
Yes, if this choice meets a real need and content and data can be transferred. Page editing, the database, access rights, public content SEO and maintenance must be planned. React and Supabase do not automatically reproduce all WordPress administration.
Do you guarantee retaining all traffic?
No. We prepare and check the elements that reduce migration risks, then monitor agreed indicators. SEO also depends on search engines’ reprocessing, competition and other factors outside the transfer.
