Your market, your customers

Website design and redesign for six French-speaking and English-speaking markets

Languages, currencies, quote enquiries and contact preferences: a useful website takes account of the market it serves. Gloria supports your project remotely from France.

Choose your market

France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Quebec and Canada: choose your market

France, French-speaking Belgium, Luxembourg, French-speaking Switzerland, Quebec or English-speaking Canada: discover what to plan before creating or redesigning your website. Gloria's contact details remain those of NOTARIA PRIME in France.

Your industry matters too

Website design by industry: compare useful features for your business

A renovation company, a hair salon and a hotel have different uses. Our industry pages explain the information and features to prepare; the local market adds to this assessment.

Define the customers and areas your business can serve

Your business's country is not enough to define the project. A French hotel may welcome English-speaking travellers; a firm in Luxembourg may serve businesses in several countries; a Quebec tradesperson may work only in a few municipalities. We start with your customers and the services you can actually provide. This avoids funding versions that would attract enquiries you cannot handle.

The table below helps prepare the brief. These are choices to discuss with you, rather than habits automatically attributed to every resident of a country. You confirm languages, the area served and your sales organisation.

Six markets, concrete decisions to make
MarketChoices to prepareExample impact on the website
FranceLocal, national or tourist customers; your business's services and prices. For a tradesperson: distinguish the service area, assessment visit and work enquiry. For accommodation: specify useful booking languages.
QuebecYour customers' vocabulary, places served and an offer displayed in CAD.A quote enquiry specifies the project type and locality. The acknowledgement and commercial reply follow the journey's language.
French-speaking SwitzerlandArea actually covered, prices in CHF and any audience in another language.A home service states its geographical limits; a catalogue retains consistent prices through the enquiry or order.
BelgiumFrench alone or several languages depending on customers served; area and contact person. If two languages are chosen, the selector leads to the same service and the correct form, with replies organised in both languages.
LuxembourgLanguages supported by your team and resident or cross-border clients. For an assignment that depends on the project's location, ask for that location before offering an appointment; do not infer it from the visitor's language.
English-speaking CanadaProvinces served, English or bilingual journey, prices in CAD.A form does not preselect France; province and postal code are requested only if they help process the enquiry.

Targeting several markets? We can start with the one where your offer, response capacity and content are most ready. Other versions follow with a clear role: an additional language for the same offer, or a distinct journey when services and terms change.

To help you decide

Adapt services, forms and the domain to each market

Translation answers one question: in which language does the visitor understand your proposal? Adapting the website to a market adds several: can they buy or book this service, on what terms, from whom, and what happens next? The two tasks are linked, but their scopes must be distinguished.

Same offer, another language

If your services and terms remain identical, continuity of the journey is the priority. The service page, buttons, fields, error messages and confirmation must be understandable together. Visitors should be able to change language without always returning to the homepage. You also need to plan who approves and updates the text in each language.

Another market, a different offer

If the area, delivery, prices or services change, a full translation of the original website can become misleading. We then prepare the variants actually needed. A business that installs a product in one country and sells it without installation elsewhere must make this difference visible before contact or payment.

One domain name or several?

The choice depends on your brand, content organisation and the accounts you want to manage. Multiple domains add renewals and configuration to monitor; if you use them for separate websites, their maintenance is additional too. A website organised by language or market may be enough; a separate domain should address an identified commercial need. In every case, you register and renew domains in your own accounts.

Plumber, salon, firm: three examples of contact journeys to prepare

Illustrative plumbing website mock-up on desktop and phone
Example visual direction for a fictional business. Content and contact choices must be adapted to the business and its market.

The following situations are design examples, not client results. They show how the same website category can be adapted beyond simply replacing a country name.

Plumbing: qualify a project before travelling

The visitor wants to renovate a bathroom. The page helps them recognise the service, shows the work the business wants to carry out, then offers an appropriate enquiry. In France, the label might mean “Describe my project”; in Quebec, it might use the local wording for “Request a quote”. This vocabulary choice matters less than the requested information: work location, type of work and a way to reply. A photo can be useful, but collecting personal documents has no place in this first exchange. The form does not promise emergency attendance if nobody monitors enquiries continuously.

Salon: retain the service choice through to booking

A client discovers a colouring service on the website, reads the conditions and opens your calendar. The service name, language and currency must remain understandable when switching tools. If your calendar cannot retain the chosen language, we examine this before selecting that journey. Depending on the salon's operations, a clear link to the existing tool may be enough; synchronising availability requires a separate assessment.

Professional firm: distinguish contact language from assignment location

An English-speaking prospect near the Luxembourg border is not necessarily requesting an assignment in Luxembourg. The form can ask for the project's country when this information determines the service, while retaining the contact language. The firm then validates the enquiry before an appointment. The intended benefit is a more relevant first response without unnecessarily lengthening the form.

Prepare content, approve the mock-up and test the website remotely

We work from France. You retain a specific role in the project: confirming what you sell, to whom, at what price and on what terms. We organise this information into journeys, content and features, then you approve it in context on a working version.

An international brief that remains actionable
To prepareWhy it mattersWhat we clarify together
Your customers and areaAvoid enquiries outside your offer or territory.Services offered, countries or places actually served and reply languages.
Your content and evidencePresent an identifiable business.Authorised photos, work examples, accurate descriptions and testimonials authorised for use.
Your current toolsKeep what works day to day.Calendar, payment, messaging, catalogue and required accounts; simple link or integration.
Your approvalsAvoid contradictory versions.A main contact, the languages they approve and decisions still open.

Access is shared through an agreed method, with the permissions needed for the assignment. The schedule depends in particular on available content, integrations and the pace of approvals. Stages and included feedback rounds are written into the quote; a different time zone is handled by setting time slots and clear written exchanges, without assuming permanent availability.

Displayed currency, invoicing and operations: three separate topics.

Your website can present your business's prices in your customers' currency. Gloria's fees, however, are quoted and invoiced in euros. The CAD or CHF equivalents shown on our pages are guide figures; they do not constitute a contractual price in local currency. The quote confirms the amount, applicable taxes and scope.

An additional version increases the work when it requires a different offer, language approval, new content or a specific connection. Pricing explains these tasks. It is not based on an automatic surcharge for each page or on adding a flag. A shop selling in several countries also requires delivery countries, fees, payment methods and order messages to be defined with the person responsible for the business.

Before delivery, we check the agreed journey: access to the correct version, consistency of displayed prices, form and confirmation, links to external tools, mobile display and ability to contact the business. Legal notices, policies and terms must match your activity; a particular regulatory situation may require your usual adviser.
