French-speaking Switzerland

Website design and redesign in French-speaking Switzerland

A clear website for your clients in French-speaking Switzerland. Languages, quote requests and online sales: let's define useful features, with budget guidance in CHF.

Our method, before design

Study competitors and keywords in your cantons and working languages

The first step establishes your services, the cantons or localities concerned and the clients you want to reach. We then compare relevant competitors and quality examples: how they explain their offer, trust information, journeys and evidence. Industry-specific constraints are identified before adopting a marketing practice observed elsewhere.

Keyword research follows these choices. “renovation company [locality]” and “hair appointment booking [locality]” illustrate two intentions to explore depending on the business. Vocabulary and languages are examined for the intended audiences; a French-speaking market does not automatically justify German and Italian pages. Available data helps prioritise needs, without inventing volumes.

The study guides the site structure, content, photos and contact methods. Indicators concern enquiries that match the scope, appointments, sales or time saved. The quote specifies the planned level of research. Local pages are only created when they explain an offer and presence that are genuinely relevant.

Your project · 01

Choose languages according to your clientele

For a business in French-speaking Switzerland, a useful website presents a specific activity, makes contact easier and clearly states the area served. Gloria supports you remotely to create a brochure website, modernise your website or prepare online sales. We start with your clientele and tools, paying particular attention to languages, ordering information and the clarity of the budget presented in your quote.

A French website can meet the needs of a business working mainly in French-speaking Switzerland. If you also serve German-speaking, Italian-speaking or international clients, we define the versions needed and content to translate. Pages, forms and important messages must remain consistent. Each additional language requires proofreading and an update process; it is planned according to your capacity to serve the enquiries received.

Your project · 02

Describe your services, the cantons you cover and information needed for a quote

A practice, architect or service business must help visitors distinguish its services, working arrangements and the initial information to provide. We organise content around these decisions. The form can ask for the locality and project type without collecting a complete dossier at the first exchange. Contact details, titles and references displayed are those you confirm, with a presentation that accurately reflects your actual location.

Your project · 03

Let customers check their basket, correct contact details and confirm the order

For e-commerce within its scope, SECO describes, among other things, seller identification, contract stages, error correction and electronic order confirmation. We turn these points into concrete elements of the journey: a basket customers can check, editable contact details and a message received after confirmation. You confirm your terms of sale and commercial settings. Adding a payment method or external tool depends on its availability on your platform and through your merchant account.

Your project · 04

Plan website migration, necessary access and costs separate from development

The redesign begins with content and features to retain. We identify important URLs, administration access and available data before fixing the scope. Indicative amounts in Swiss francs make euro prices easier to understand; they do not guarantee payment in CHF. Your quote specifies the contractual currency, selected options and any platform fees. Technical difficulty guides the pricing.

Practical questions

Multilingual websites, appointment tools and remote validation: your questions

Is it compulsory to create several language versions?

We do not automatically propose a multilingual website. The choice depends on the people you want to serve and the content needed. A clear French journey may be the right starting point; other languages are added when they address an identified need.

Can you connect my appointment tool?

We examine the possibilities offered by your tool: booking link, embedded module or a more advanced connection. The integration type and how it works on a phone are checked before pricing. The service subscription and any additional costs remain separate from website development.

How do we check the result remotely?

You receive a version to explore with your content and use cases. We then check links, forms and planned steps, and address the feedback included in the quote. For an online shop, a test order checks the journey and confirmations.

Websites for hair salons and plumbing companies

Booking and service selection for hairdressing; emergency work, service areas and planned-work enquiries for plumbing: two journeys to prepare according to your activity.

The right starting point

Present a service area you can actually cover

Take a service business working in several localities in French-speaking Switzerland. Two municipalities close together on a map do not always involve the same travel, teams or available services. The website must explain this coverage using your actual criteria: regular areas, travel assessed case by case and activities offered in each area.

We would start with a service page specifying what the business does and how to prepare an enquiry. An additional local page becomes worthwhile if it can provide distinct information: access to premises, a team, an authorised project example or working arrangements. A list of cantons does not replace these elements.

This case is fictional, but the method is concrete: before writing a new page, we check which question it answers. You get a structure your clients understand and that you can maintain as your areas or teams change.

Prioritise features

Languages, prices and contact: three separate decisions

Prices for your own Swiss services follow the information you approve. They must not be confused with the budget for Gloria to create your website, which is quoted and invoiced in euros. The CHF equivalents displayed on this page help you understand that budget.

A German or English version also requires clarification of booking, confirmation and planned commercial responses, not just the homepage text.

What makes the project easier

Prepare your services, useful pages, tools and examples of completed work

For a redesign, a representative selection is enough to get started: your main services, some accurate content, pages still in use and tools you want to keep. You do not need to send your entire client database or confidential documents immediately to explain the need.

A business presenting its work can prepare three different examples. For each, specify the request type, your contribution and what the photo helps explain. A useful caption distinguishes a design choice, a constraint resolved or a speciality; it does not simply add a city name to an image.

For a CMS website package, we define the updates you will make: services, team, opening hours or projects. This list helps choose the tool and plan a handover using content relevant to you. The amount of information to clean or migrate may matter more than the final number of pages.

Check everyday use

Test contact, old URLs and journeys in the planned languages

We prepare plausible browsing situations: someone discovers a service on their phone, another looks for a locality served, a third uses an old link. The check establishes whether each finds the right contact and understands what will happen after their enquiry.

For a multilingual website, the same service is followed through to the final message in the agreed languages. For an online shop, the check covers the journey defined in the quote: product, contact details, delivery, payment and confirmation. A particular payment method is not considered available until your platform and account have been examined.

We also identify the person who can edit information and the costs to monitor after delivery. The domain stays in your account, with you handling purchase and renewal. Hosting and external services are separate choices. You can therefore compare day-to-day operation and project cost beyond its appearance.

Professional rules & implementation

Lawyers and notaries in Switzerland: distinguish federal and cantonal rules

For lawyers, the LLCA governs advertising and professional secrecy. Notarial practice also depends on the canton: the Geneva example includes strong restrictions on solicitation and advertising activities. The canton and professional status are therefore starting information for the project.

The legislation, articles and implications for the website are presented in our Swiss guide for lawyers and notaries, with official sources, including Fedlex — LLCA, RS 935.61, French text, as of 1 July 2025.
