Our method, before design

Compare competing salons and hairdressing searches in your area

The benchmark starts with comparable salons near your premises and a few examples that clearly present their transformations. We examine photos, explanations before booking, prices and the role of a consultation. The aim is to showcase your work and help a new client choose the right service, based on the menu your team actually offers.

We then analyse the language people use in searches: “hair salon [city]” and “hair colouring [city]” can be explored before selecting more specific intentions. French is addressed in headings, services and booking; any English version requires a decision about the clientele you want to reach and validation of their journey.

From this, we identify useful pages, photos to gather and connections with your booking calendar. KPIs track confirmed appointments and mistakes in service selection when that information is available. The study remains proportionate to the quote, without claiming to know demand in every neighbourhood or creating fictional locations.

In practice

Cut or colour: two ways to guide clients towards booking

Choose a haircut and find the booking link

Visitors discover your style and services, then go to the relevant appointment. Photos and the service menu help them express what they want.

Prepare for colouring or balayage before the appointment

The page explains your approach, options and useful steps before booking. You can arrange initial contact when a consultation is necessary.

Scope

Service menu, booking and salon information

A menu that is easy to read on a phone

Services, indicative durations and approved prices are presented as accessible text. Visitors can consult them without downloading a photo of a price list that is difficult to enlarge.

An easy-to-identify booking option

A clear button leads to your calendar or a contact request. The journey distinguishes a submitted request from an appointment that has actually been confirmed.

Update services, prices and opening hours through an administration interface

With the appropriate package, you can edit opening hours, services and team members. Advanced synchronisation with your till or inventory is quoted separately.

Your project · 01

A service menu that prepares clients for their appointment

Cutting, styling, colouring or a transformation: we separate services that can be booked directly from those requiring a consultation. Your price list specifies what is included, the factors affecting the price and the treatment of taxes, based on information you approve. Example proposed journey, not a completed client project: corrective colouring leads to a consultation request rather than a standard slot that is too short. Prices for your services remain in Canadian dollars.

Your project · 02

French throughout the journey, including confirmation

The OQLF states that content from a business operating in Quebec must be accessible in French. We therefore also examine the booking tool: service names, instructions, errors and confirmation messages. An English version can complement the journey if you serve those clients; it does not replace the French version. For a French-speaking salon established in another province, content and language requirements are scoped according to its actual audience.

Your project · 03

Keep the booking calendar your team uses

The website can direct visitors to your existing booking account, with the right location and services. We check the journey on a phone, the salon's opening hours and the calendar's time zone. A simple link avoids managing two schedules. Stylist selection, deposits, cancellations and reminders depend on your tool's capabilities; their configuration and any subscriptions are specified in the quote.

Your project · 04

Keep your domain, booking links and useful pages during the redesign

We retain authorised photos, service pages and addresses that are still used. Links from your social media or business profile should lead to a relevant page after the redesign. A portfolio shows your own work; an illustration remains identified as such. You provide the address, directions, parking information and special opening hours so that the website genuinely helps people prepare for their visit.

Your project · 05

Limit the personal information requested in forms

The CAI recommends establishing whether information is necessary before collecting it. An appointment request can focus on the desired service and useful contact details; a public website does not need a detailed personal file. We provide access to your privacy policy and identify with you the services that receive requests. Your salon approves retention practices and published information.

Practical questions

Website pricing, online sales, domain and hosting: your questions

What budget should I plan for my salon's website?

Starting prices are €290 excluding VAT for a simple brochure website, €590 excluding VAT for a CMS website or standard redesign, and €990 excluding VAT for a standard online shop. Scope, data and integrations determine the quote, with no automatic surcharge per page. Invoicing remains in euros.

Can we sell products or gift cards?

A link can lead to your existing sales channel. For a new shop, we need to define the catalogue, collection or delivery, taxes and payment with you. A gift card usable in your till requires compatibility checks; this connection and third-party fees are not implicitly included.

Who keeps control of the domain and hosting?

You purchase and renew the domain in your own account. Help with the initial connection is included. You subscribe to compatible hosting or choose hosting management by Gloria, with separate fees and specified backup and recovery terms.

Official guidance for your information

Example journey

A hair transformation deserves the right first appointment

Imagine a new client in Quebec who wants to change her hair colour after seeing your work on your website. She is unsure which service to choose and whether to book directly or discuss her project first. The page can help by presenting your approach in the language used in the salon.

We would show authorised examples, information to know before a first visit and the distinction between a consultation and a service, if your organisation makes one. The button follows this logic. An information request must not be presented as a booking, and a demonstration image must not be confused with a transformation carried out by your team.

This fictional scenario helps build a useful journey. It can be adapted to a different speciality, such as haircuts, wedding hairstyles or colour maintenance. The website helps your clients prepare for the right conversation without replacing your professional advice.

Prepare for the appointment

Use the same service names on the website and in your booking software

Scroll the table horizontally to read all columns.

Example mapping to approve with the salon

Service explanationSelectable service nameThe client recognises the same service
Approved prices and termsCorresponding amount or indicationOptions are not discovered too late
Team and specialitiesChoice of professional if availableThe selected person provides the service
Advice before the visitPlanned confirmation and remindersInstructions remain consistent

Any English version follows the same preparation. The software's messages and instructions form part of the journey to examine; their capabilities depend on the service used.

We therefore start by checking your current system before proposing a replacement. A link to the right service may be enough. A more advanced integration or a change to how the calendar works is quoted according to its actual scope.

Sell beyond appointments

Products and gift cards: plan how they work before presenting them online

If you want to sell products, the project begins with the catalogue and order processing: variants, availability, salon collection or delivery, the person responsible and the payment method. An attractive product page does not resolve a discrepancy between stock in your till system and stock on the website.

A gift card raises other questions: who receives it, how it is delivered, how the salon records its use and which terms you want to communicate. Linking to a service you already use can avoid rebuilding this management process. A dedicated solution requires the whole journey to be defined and tested.

These features remain separate from a simple presentation website. The budget depends on the available data and required connections. We help you compare options by separating development, subscriptions and payment fees. Your salon approves the service menu and client prices independently of Gloria's quote.

Validate with your team

Test booking, confirmation and service updates

Before publication, your team can follow the journey of a regular client, a new client and, if included, a gift card buyer. We check the service, location, Canadian contact details and information received after the action. A test order or appointment is carried out according to the selected tools and scope.

For a redesign, we identify links shared on social media and pages already in use. With a CMS website package, you try editing the menu or gallery. This helps define who keeps content up to date and identify duplicate information to avoid.

Remote work is organised with consolidated feedback and agreed meeting times. You approve photos, salon terminology and commercial terms. We can then correct specific points, with a single reference version for the team, website and connected services.
