Website creation and redesign for bicycle shops
Bicycle shop websites: show available models and organise test rides and workshop bookings
Cyclists want to know whether you have the right bike in the right size, whether a test ride is possible and how to have their equipment serviced. Gloria organises these journeys using your shop's information, then prices the functions needed for your catalogue, reservations or online sales.
- Present the model, size and availability with reliable information.
- Direct test ride requests and repair enquiries through separate journeys.
- Connect website enquiries to completed sales, collections and workshop jobs.

Content and functionality
Compare competing shops and searches for bike test rides, purchases and servicing
We start with what you sell and repair: city, road, mountain, electric or children's bikes, accessories or second-hand equipment. We also clarify which brands your workshop handles and which services you actually provide. A shop specialising in urban cycling should not present itself as a universal repairer.
The benchmark examines local shops, online specialists and brand pages your customers consult. We compare the information available before a visit: size, stock, test ride options, included equipment, collection and servicing. This helps identify questions your website can answer better, without copying competitors' catalogues.
Keyword research then distinguishes “bike shop + town”, “try an electric bike”, “bike service” and searches for models or sizes. These are hypotheses to check against your offer, without assigning invented search volumes. A workshop page answers a different intent from a product page. The quote defines the depth of research, number of ranges examined and available data. We prioritise journeys your team can actually support.
Content and functionality
Show available sizes and distinguish shop stock, supplier orders and reservations
A bike displayed in the catalogue is not necessarily ready for a test ride. The website must distinguish the model presented, the variant available in your shop and ordering options. Size, colour and specifications that vary between versions must remain associated with the correct product reference.
Without a reliable connection to the till or stock system, “availability to be confirmed” is preferable to a quantity that becomes outdated after the first sale. If synchronisation is chosen, we define its source, frequency and behaviour when it fails. A reference available from a supplier is not presented as a bike already assembled in your shop.
The journey chosen reflects this reliability. A product page can invite people to request a test ride, check a size or purchase when online sales are actually planned. The brand's sizing information helps prepare the conversation; it does not guarantee suitability for everyone. Your advice and, if offered, a fitting or test ride remain clearly separate from product specifications.
During a redesign, old product pages still receiving visits are reviewed before deletion. A model replaced by a new version deserves an explanation; a redirect must not hide differences in size, equipment or model year.

The quote confirms the scope before commitment. The client registers and renews the domain; initial connection is included. Choose hosting on your own account or hosting managed by Gloria, at an additional cost. E-commerce platform, applications and payment fees are not included.
These starting prices cover standard configurations. The quote specifies the selected functions, data migrations and integrations. There is no automatic surcharge per page: a synchronised schedule, stock management or a private area may require more work than a set of presentation pages.

Example: requesting a test ride for a bike to commute and carry belongings
Fictional example: a customer is looking for a bike for her daily journeys. She browses a category organised by use, then two models. She sees their equipment, intended routes and available sizing information without first having to understand all the catalogue's technical terminology.
The test ride button opens a request linked to the model and variant. She specifies her intended use, a preferred visiting period and a contact method. The shop checks the test bike's availability, confirms the appointment and explains the applicable conditions. The website does not automatically announce that a new bike in stock can be used for a test ride.
After the visit, the team can record the completed test ride and outcome: purchase, another size to order or a postponed project. If the customer then reserves a bike, the collection date allows for preparation. This example shows three different states—request, confirmation and bike ready—that must remain understandable in messages. The function can begin with a manually processed form; a calendar and demonstration-bike management are priced separately.
Content and functionality
Prepare bike product pages, the workshop page and collection information
We organise content around cyclists' decisions and the data your shop holds. The following table provides a basis for the scope; it does not mean every integration is included in a standard package.
On a small screen, scroll the table horizontally.
| Item to prepare | Required data | Check before publication |
|---|---|---|
| Bike product page | Reference, model year, sizes, equipment and authorised images. | Each variant matches the correct product. |
| Availability | Stock source and update rule. | Local stock and supplier orders are distinguished. |
| Workshop page | Jobs and brands handled, drop-off arrangements and quote approval. | Customers cannot book a repair you do not offer. |
| Test ride request | Models available to test and confirmation procedure. | A submitted form is not an accepted appointment. |
| Collection | Preparation, opening hours and ready-for-collection message. | Purchase confirmation does not promise immediate collection. |
You choose who keeps each piece of information up to date. A huge catalogue without anyone responsible for the data can generate more unnecessary enquiries than a reliable selection. We can begin with priority categories and plan expansion once imports and stock management are ready.
Content and functionality
Separate test ride and repair forms and request the right information
For a test ride, we ask for the model viewed, intended use, preferred date and contact details. The desired size may remain unknown. Any documents needed for the test ride are explained at the appropriate stage; there is no need to routinely collect identification for an initial question.
For the workshop, the form collects the bike type, its brand where useful, the reason for the enquiry and possible drop-off times. Visitors should be able to describe a noise or fault without choosing the repair themselves. If you exclude certain jobs, that information appears before submission. The response states that diagnosis, quote and turnaround will be confirmed according to your procedure.
An enquiry about an existing order uses a separate entry point, with an order number only where necessary. This separation helps the team process messages without losing test ride requests among after-sales enquiries. If connected to workshop software, we plan the status created, the person responsible for follow-up and duplicate prevention. The technical scope and any subscriptions are detailed in the quote.
Content and functionality
Choose between a catalogue, reservations, click and collect and till integration
A brochure website may be enough to present your brands and workshop. An editable catalogue lets you select bikes to feature without handling payments. A reservation confirms an intention or holds a product according to agreed rules; it must not be confused with a paid order.
An online shop adds a basket, payment and handover arrangements. For click and collect, you need to define who accepts the order, when stock is reserved, how preparation is communicated and what happens if the product is unavailable. Shipped accessory orders may follow a different journey from bikes collected fully assembled at the shop.
A connection to the till, suppliers or workshop software involves matching product references, access permissions and tests using real cases. It is not automatically included in the creation of a standard shop. An existing specialist platform can also be retained if it meets your needs well. We compare recurring costs and exit constraints before recommending a migration. Product-page count alone does not explain complexity: data quality and how exchanges operate matter more.
Content and functionality
Secure orders and prevent catalogue imports from changing the wrong products
Access is allocated according to the work: adding a photo, processing a collection and changing payment connections do not require the same permissions. Individual accounts avoid sharing one password across the whole shop. We define updates, backups and responsibility for ongoing oversight with the chosen hosting or maintenance option.
A catalogue import must be checked on a sample: sizes, prices, availability, references and images. Price or stock changes must not propagate unchecked when the source file is incomplete. API credentials remain server-side; a synchronisation failure must be detectable by the person responsible for the website.
Forms use server-side validation and protection against automated submissions. The payment provider handles bank details within the planned payment journey. If AI assistance is used to prepare descriptions, it relies on validated data for the product reference. It must not invent a battery range, accessory compatibility or servicing option absent from your offer.
Content and functionality
Test unavailable sizes, fully booked test rides and collection, then measure sales and margin
Acceptance testing includes searching for a bike in an unavailable size, a test ride request awaiting confirmation, an out-of-scope repair and an order for collection. For a shop, we add declined payments, cancellations and availability changes. The summary must show the exact variant and information needed for preparation.
On mobile, we check filters, size selection, form errors and specification browsing. Photos should help identify the product and its details without hiding essential information. You also test a routine update: removing a sold model or temporarily closing workshop enquiries.
Indicators distinguish test ride requests, completed test rides, resulting sales, collected orders and workshop jobs. Margin is assessed after discounts, preparation costs and fees for the relevant journey, rather than solely from online revenue. A sale made in the shop after someone visits the website can be tracked through a simple question or the customer record, depending on the tools chosen. Attribution remains imperfect: we avoid automatically counting every known sale as an incremental effect of the website.
After handover
Domain in your name, hosting and maintenance defined in the quote
You register and renew your domain
The domain name is registered on your account. You pay for and renew it directly; Gloria connects it to the website initially as part of launch. You retain control of the account and renewal reminders. Subsequent one-off assistance can be quoted separately.
You choose who hosts and maintains the website
You can retain compatible hosting or choose hosting managed by Gloria at an additional cost. The quote specifies recurring costs, backups, updates, included interventions and exit terms. Software subscriptions, paid extensions and marketing support are identified separately.
Practical questions
Questions about sizes, test rides and workshop appointments
Should we put the brands' entire catalogues on our website?
No. A properly maintained selection may serve your shop better. A full import becomes relevant if you have the rights, data and organisation needed to manage variants. Supplier stock must remain distinct from stock actually held in your shop.
Can we start without selling online?
Yes. Presenting ranges, test ride requests and a workshop page can be the first stage. The website can later evolve towards reservations or payment. We anticipate that evolution without immediately charging for connections you do not yet need.
Can we connect our till software or workshop schedule?
We examine its available interfaces and the software provider's terms. A simple link, an embedded calendar and full synchronisation involve different work. Compatibility, cost and responsibilities if something fails are confirmed before commitment.
How can we present second-hand bikes without leaving outdated listings online?
Each bike has photographs and information reflecting its actual condition. The sales process includes removing it from the catalogue or marking it as sold with a useful next step. A different size or condition does not silently replace the original listing.
