Website for a florist

Florist website: bouquets, orders and event enquiries

Your future customer wants to give flowers, reserve decorations or find out whether you can deliver in time. Gloria creates or redesigns your website to answer these questions with your arrangements, actual availability and an appropriate journey: phone call, shop collection, delivery or event enquiry.

Our method, before design

Florist benchmark and keywords: bouquets, delivery and weddings

The benchmark begins with florists in your area, local results and websites that explain ordering, delivery and collection well. We compare the occasions offered, visibility of conditions and use of photographs. Your actual range, seasonality, preparation times and order values guide priorities.

‘Florist delivery [town]’, ‘birthday bouquet shop collection’ and ‘wedding floral decoration’ are search avenues to check against your services. In particular, we examine the difference between an immediate purchase and a quoted project. Popular demand is not enough to justify offering a delivery or event you cannot fulfil.

The study guides occasion pages, conditions and the ordering journey, using photographs of your arrangements and explanations of their variations. KPIs concern orders you can fulfil, their value and relevant event enquiries. No location outside the delivery area is added merely to fill the website. The quote defines the competitors and query groups analysed; a standard website price does not include continuous commercial research.

The benefit for your business

Bouquets to order, delivery and event quotes

  • Arrangements explained and photographed to help customers choose.
  • Areas, lead times and collection arrangements visible before ordering.
  • A separate journey for weddings and decorations requiring a conversation.

Your website in practice

A bouquet for tomorrow and a wedding are not sold in the same way

The first decision concerns the orders you want to receive. Someone seeking a bouquet for tomorrow needs the budget, possible time slot and procedure. A couple planning a wedding wants to discover your style, understand what you can install and check your availability. Sending both to the same general form forces them to guess how you operate.

We therefore organise your website around explicit journeys. Bouquets lead to ordering, collection or a call according to your organisation. Events lead to an enquiry containing the date, location and scale of decoration. Business subscriptions, if you actually offer them, explain frequency, container, installation and replacement terms.

The benefit is practical: visitors can progress without waiting for an answer to every basic question. You receive enquiries already specifying the occasion and timing. The website must not promise immediate delivery if your route or supplies cannot support it.

The quote confirms the scope before commitment. The client registers and renews the domain; initial connection is included. Choose hosting on your own account or hosting managed by Gloria, at an additional cost. E-commerce platform, applications and payment fees are not included.

These starting prices cover standard configurations. The quote specifies the selected functions, data migrations and integrations. There is no automatic surcharge per page: a synchronised schedule, stock management or a private area may require more work than a set of presentation pages.

Brochure website, reservation or shop: choose according to your organisation

An online shop is useful if you are ready to maintain a catalogue, prepare orders and update delivery options. If every arrangement requires a conversation, a clear brochure website with availability enquiries may fit your business better. These are the decisions to make before choosing a package.

On a small screen, scroll the table horizontally.

Three ways to receive a flower order
How you operateSuitable journeyWhat to plan
You confirm every bouquet by phoneIndicative catalogue, budget, call or enquiryState that the request still requires confirmation
You prepare a selection for collectionBouquet and day selection, payment if chosenStock, opening hours and preparation time
You sell with local deliveryCart, address, charges, date and paymentTowns served, capacity and unavailable dates

A calendar displaying a preferred date is not a system that automatically reserves capacity on your delivery route. We state this distinction in the quote and customer journey. Advanced postcode rules, quotas per slot or till synchronisation require a dedicated study. Creating additional editorial pages does not, by itself, trigger an automatic surcharge.

Example: order a bouquet for delivery before a celebration

Illustrative scenario, with no commercial result attributed to a client. A florist offers three sizes of seasonal bouquet and delivers to certain towns in the afternoon. On the Saturday before a celebration, collection remains available but delivery is fully booked. A good page does more than display an ‘Order’ button beneath a beautiful photograph.

The customer first chooses the bouquet and size. The page explains that varieties may change with arrivals while specifying what remains comparable: style, palette, volume and budget. They then choose collection or delivery. For delivery, the address must be within the accepted area and the date available. If Saturday is full, another date or collection is offered before payment, without a misleading confirmation.

The card message remains separate from delivery instructions so that a note intended for the driver is not accidentally printed. The summary repeats the product name, size, collection or delivery method and total cost. For a brochure website without payment, the button becomes ‘Request this bouquet’ and confirmation explains that the florist still needs to accept the order. These details avoid building a promise the business could not keep.

Create bouquet, event and ordering-information pages

The homepage presents your shop, style and two or three priority paths. A Bouquets page groups a coherent selection rather than accumulating photographs without context. Product pages specify the size shown, approximate dimensions where relevant, whether a container is included and personalisation options. A photograph of a large bouquet must not silently represent the lowest price.

The Delivery and collection page answers practical questions: towns, charges, days, preparation time, shop and access. A Weddings page presents several decorations authorised for publication, the nature of your work and how the first conversation proceeds. Funeral services, if offered, benefit from a restrained page with useful contact details and a simple procedure, without sales pressure.

We develop a separate page when it addresses a real intent and service. Repeating the same bouquet for every neighbourhood without additional information helps nobody. For your local visibility, the shop name, contact details and hours should remain consistent with your presence elsewhere. Special opening hours deserve a place that is easy to update before celebrations.

Photos that show what the customer will receive

Your creations are the main material for the website. We favour a small, well-photographed selection: the whole bouquet, a detail of the arrangement and a setting that gives a sense of scale. The background, lighting and framing should make products easy to compare. Illustrative images can accompany an introduction, but they are not presented as creations made in your workshop.

The mobile version must keep the bouquet clearly visible without unnecessarily downloading every large file. We prepare sizes suited to different screens, useful alternative text and deferred loading for images further down the page. The first important image remains a priority. You also approve the colour reproduction: excessive compression or a decorative filter can misrepresent your work.

Seasonal content must be manageable. An unavailable arrangement can be marked as such, replaced by a current collection or retained as an example with a clear explanation. The choice depends on its usefulness and existing traffic. With an editable package, we prepare product templates that you can complete with a name, size, availability and representative photograph.

Event form: date, venue and type of floral decoration

For an event, the initial form can ask for the contact's name, a way to reply, the planned date, town or venue, type of service and an optional indicative budget. An ordinary bouquet enquiry does not need all these fields. The recipient's full address is requested when it is needed for a delivery, rather than simply to ask about your availability.

We limit free-text fields and their length, validate inputs on the server and add protection against automated submissions. Attachments are not enabled by default: if sending inspiration files would be useful, the file format, size and handling must be defined. The data received remains accessible only to the people handling orders or events.

The confirmation distinguishes receipt of the enquiry from acceptance of the order. It explains the next step without inventing a callback time you could not meet. For an online shop, the handling of addresses, payments, gift messages and notifications receives specific checks. A bank card number is never requested in the form's free-text field.

Redesign without losing collections and links that remain useful

Before replacing a website, we inventory its pages, collections and links that still bring visitors. A useful old Weddings page should not disappear simply because the new menu changes. We retain its address where possible or prepare a permanent redirect to its genuine replacement. Sending all old arrangements to the homepage makes the journey confusing.

Seasonal products require individual decisions. An annually recurring collection can retain a stable address and be updated. A permanently withdrawn product can lead to a similar alternative if it genuinely meets the need. Without a relevant equivalent, a clear unavailable response or properly presented not-found page remains preferable to an unrelated redirect.

We also check the links in your business listing, social profiles and printed materials that use your domain. The website switchover is prepared with a backup, access to the old content and checks of the main old addresses. Payment accounts and order histories do not move automatically with a simple design change: their migration must be explicitly planned.

Test the ordering journey before launch

Acceptance testing uses industry scenarios: finding special opening hours on a phone, choosing a bouquet within the displayed budget, understanding a seasonal substitution and requesting decorations without going through the basket. If you choose e-commerce, we add out-of-area addresses, closed dates, abandoned baskets and declined payments in the test environment.

You approve both the summary received by the customer and the one used in the workshop. The information needed for preparation must be present without mixing up the gift message and internal instructions. We check keyboard journeys, labels, form errors and how tables display on mobile. A visually finished website is not considered approved merely because its homepage works.

After delivery, responsibilities are assigned: who updates bouquets, closes a delivery date, reads enquiries and checks notifications. Commercial tracking can then distinguish calls, event enquiries and orders actually accepted. This tracking helps you decide on the next improvements based on how you really work, without promising a guaranteed number of sales.

Domain, hosting & maintenance

Who manages the website after handover?

You register and renew the domain name

You register, pay for and renew your domain name directly. Gloria connects it to the website initially as part of launch. The registrar account and renewal reminders remain under your control. Subsequent one-off assistance can be quoted separately.

Hosting and maintenance: options and prices to specify

You can retain compatible hosting or choose hosting managed by Gloria at an additional cost. The quote specifies recurring costs, backups, updates, included interventions and exit terms. Subscriptions to booking tools, platforms or paid extensions are identified before commitment.

Practical questions

Questions about functionality and website creation

Should we start straight away with an online shop?

Not necessarily. If you still personally confirm each order, a brochure website with a catalogue and an explicit enquiry route may be enough. Online payment becomes relevant when products, availability and handover arrangements can be precisely defined.

Can we keep our current ordering service?

Yes, after reviewing its capabilities. A link to an existing shop is straightforward; integrating stock, time slots or orders may require a specific connection. The quote distinguishes these two levels and identifies any subscriptions to the third-party service.

Who supplies the bouquet photographs?

Ideally, you supply images of your own creations, with the necessary permissions. We can use illustrations for the general presentation, keeping them distinct from the catalogue. They do not replace a representative photograph of a product actually sold.
